I actually got a kill once by sticking the bomb with a spike grenade on high ground. Right as I disarmed it, I stuck it. The other team player was just waiting for it since he knew it would be reset, and it killed him.

but does a well placed snipershot in the weapon like a rocket launcher kill the player? if it does then ill never have to wait for a piece of body or a head appear behind a wall but just wait until i see a barrel of a gun.

You can get recon or some other armor if you get the achievements and buy Halo ODST.
