Whats with all these new halo 3 achievements and there saying something about new maps?

The maps mentioned in the new achievements are part of the “Mythic” map pack which has not yet been released. It originally consisted of 6 new maps, but has since been divided into two sets of 3. They are not due to release until early 2009.

some new maps are on X-box live, some are in these map packs, like herioc map pack. Some of the maps i know are avalanche, foundry, ghost town, and cold storage

Look it up on Bungie.net.. Thats where you will find all the answers.. but in short,
Its an update and the maps will come out early next year.
Also.. if you unlock all the vidmaster achievements (will have to be after maps come out) you will unlock RECON!

You can already get the new maps through market place but for the legendary map pack which includes black out you need microsoft points. otherwise places like foundary and cold storage and stand off are free under game add ons.
